PACT is enormously grateful for the time, skills and talents given freely by the range of volunteers working with us today. The families we work with and PACT staff benefit from the life experience and generosity that our volunteers bring to our projects and services.

PACT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults therefore please note our recruitment procedure includes DBS checks and overseas checks (where applicable). Please note that prospective volunteers will need to evidence they have the relevant permission to work in the UK.

HR Admin Volunteer

  • The HR team at PACT provides a comprehensive service to all of PACT’s staff, contractors and volunteers. This includes inputting into the business strategy, ensuring legislative and contractual conditions are adhered to, managing and processing recruitment, providing training and development opportunities and updating policies amongst other things.
  • This varied role will assist the team with administrative tasks and take responsibility for distinct projects to enable the team to continue to deliver an efficient and professional service.
  • Our HR team is really friendly, welcoming and supportive. We want to make sure that you get the most out of your volunteering experience which is why the role is so flexible and has varied tasks. For example, you could be getting involved in assisting training and interview days, producing welcome packs and interview packs, maintaining our HR database and providing administrative support to the team. There are a range of different tasks to get involved in which makes this role really flexible and exciting.

Marketing and Fundraising Volunteer

  • We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in a new challenge and would like to be part of a welcoming, supportive and friendly team.
  • This is not a bucket-shaking role and you will be getting involved in a variety of different tasks which range from making fundraising packs to contacting local companies regarding opportunities. There is flexibility in this role and we are happy with as much time as you can offer us. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in and means you are able to develop a variety of skills including teamwork, communication and high attention to detail.
  • This is a role that would suit anyone who has experience or would like to learn a little more about Marketing and Fundraising in a charity.

Events Volunteer

  • Based at London and Brighton 
  • Hours to be agreed
  • This is a flexible role for people who are passionate about adoption and can spare time to help with PACT's events programme which include information evenings for potential adopters, training for our adopters, manning external event stands, family fun days and carol concerts as well providing well-earned encouragement to our supporters fundraising through challenges and essential administrative support.

Communities Peer Mentor Volunteer

  • Based at Alana House, Reading 
  • If you enjoy using your listening and social skills to help people make positive changes in their lives we would love to hear from you.  Our mentoring programme provides support and encouragement to women facing multiple barriers to employment.  We work with a wide range of women to help them increase their confidence by developing their digital skills in order to access education or employment following a period of unemployment.  We are building a team of mentors to assist with groups accessing the Job Skills course (Mondays 11am – 12.30pm at Alana House) as well as proving one-to-one support to women who are looking to try something different (for example attend a college open day). Perhaps you are happy sharing your own experience of returning to work after being unemployed, or your employment skills to help someone to write a CV or search for jobs. This is an incredibly satisfying role for someone who enjoys walking beside people as they make changes in their lives.

Volunteer IT Group Leader

  • Based at Alana House, Reading 
  • A few hours a week, to be agreed.
  • We would love to hear from people with confident IT skills to lead basic IT skills groups for women who access Alana House services. Subjects to cover might include finding your way around a computer, internet searches for job hunting, using Word to create CVs and using emails but may also include more advanced subjects. This opportunity is with an exceptional, awarding-winning and friendly team and is a fabulous chance to make a practical difference.

Volunteer Adoption Support Adminstrator

  • Based flexible - either at home or at the Brighton Office
  • A few hours a week, to be agreed.
  • We would love to hear from people who would like to get involved a varied role from helping with administration and also directly with families at events.
