Training support for adoptive parents
Attachment-Focused Parenting course
As part of our continued support to all adopters we offer a series of workshops for children and families. These are designed to offer expert support in an easy and accessible way as well as giving our families an opportunity to meet each other. We are once again offering our popular 12 week Attachment-Focused Parenting course in Reading in Spring 2017.
This course was originally developed by Kim Golding and will help parents and carers to explore new ways of parenting their children in order to develop a secure attachment. The course will also help parents and carers to understand and manage the complex and difficult behaviours often presented by adopted and fostered children. The course promotes resilience and emotional health and aims to increase the confidence and practical skills of parents in a supportive group work setting.
