The BB4K gallery
BB4K is a step towards breaking the cycle of domestic abuse. Parents, carers and children alike are given a chance to reflect and think about how their behaviour is affected due to the circumstances they have experienced.
Our BB4K sessions involve a variety of play based activities and creative work including crafts, stories and writing to help children recognise, express and process their emotions and experiences , to help facilitate the healing process.
Below is a selection of images showing the work that children and parents produce in BB4K sessions.

Calm jars! We reflect that our busy brains can look like the jar when it’s just been shaken up but as the glitter begins to settle, we invite the children to slow their breath and focus only on the jar. As it begins to ‘calm down,’ we encourage them to feel calm with it.

Take a look at these ‘Owl Babies’ that BB4K’s group for children aged 3-5 made together. This is a story about owl babies who worry where their mother has gone, but find joy and relief when she flies back to the nest. Through reading the story and creating their own owl puppets and nest, the children explored themes such as separation anxiety and parental attachment, and were encouraged to explore these feelings through play.

BB4K’s ‘heart to heart tree’. Heart to heart is an attachment-based group that focuses on building child and parent relationship. Written on the leaves are evaluation words of how the parent and child felt at the end of the session. Each colour resembles a different week of the programme and each leaf echoes one parent and their child.
