An adoption charity is reaching out to people in southern and central England who have dreamed of having a big family and would like to find out how this may be possible through adoption.
Parents And Children Together (PACT) is holding a free online live Q&A on Thursday 26th September at 12.30pm. The session will be with an adoptive parent of three children and one of PACT’s adoption team managers. People considering adoption will be able to put their questions to PACT’s experienced team and find out what adopting a larger sibling group might look like for them.
PACT is one of the UK’s leading adoption charities and was rated as outstanding by Ofsted three times in a row in 2014, 2017 and 2023. PACT recruits, prepares, approves and supports adoptive parents for children waiting in care.
PACT is passionate about keeping sisters and brothers together and is always interested in speaking with people who have big family dreams.
Last year, 40% of the children PACT found loving and permanent families for were siblings. PACT’s Service Director for Adoption, Lorna Hunt said, ‘PACT is always looking for potential parents with hearts open to the joy of a bigger family with the reassurance that PACT will always support their families for the times that may be more challenging.’
Ellie and Andrea adopted three children through PACT. They said there were many benefits to adopting a sibling group.
They said: “Our children always have playmates and we have the large family we dreamt of. But, undoubtedly, the most important aspect is that they have each other.
“These little people have experienced so much uncertainty and change in their short lives, the only consistent factor has been their brothers and sisters – and this is something we were determined to protect.“
Interested attendees must register in advance to secure their spot. To book people can contact PACT’s enquiries team on 0330 456 4800 or find out more through PACT’s website www.pactcharity.org/adoption.
