Calling all future pop stars!
As part of this year’s Reading Children’s Festival, PACT is inviting children and families to come and sing the afternoon away at a children’s karaoke event.
PACT is partnering with Reading Biscuit Factory for an afternoon of fun and tunes on Saturday 25th May from 3-5pm.
With song choices for every voice, children and adults alike are welcome to come and perform their favourite numbers. So bring your friends!
There will lots to do with face painting too. The event is suitable for children aged 3–11 and accompanying adults. All families are welcome.
There is no need to book and the event is free to attend. A suggested donation of £1 per song is encouraged. All funds raised from the karaoke will directly support the local families, women and children affected by trauma that PACT works with every day.
James Ireland, Assistant Manager at the Reading Biscuit Factory said: “We’re so happy to welcome PACT back to RBF to promote and fundraise for their important work and provide some fun for local families. RBF is a family-friendly, multi-functional venue where we welcome people to come and see the latest films (including upcoming Inside Out 2 and The Garfield Movie!), take part in workshops, eat, drink and generally enjoy a community space right on the high street. We look forward to more and more local families using the space, some potentially for the first time, and discovering everything RBF has to offer!”
PACT Community Fundraiser Sarah Hacker said: “This promises to be a great afternoon when Reading families can come together to have fun while knowing they are also supporting the families, children and women that need it the most.
“PACT works to provide a safety net of support for families, children and women affected by trauma, whether that is from adversity in childhood, domestic and/or sexual abuse or mental ill health. This support is needed more than ever, right here in our town.
“Fundraising events like this are important to PACT to provide this vital support. Our services enable women, families and children to make very real and profound changes in their lives.”
