Nick Evans
Nick, aged 39, is running for Parents And Children Together (PACT), a charity that provides outstanding adoption services, specialist therapeutic support and inspirational community projects.
Nick Evans, a sales manager for automative technology solutions company Keyloop, said: “Running the marathon is a bucket list achievement for me and a great opportunity to raise money for PACT – a local charity that Keyloop are proud to be working with this year.”
Before this year, 10 kilometres was the furthest that Nick had run. He said: “Training has been going great. I have been running faster and going further every week.
“Staying injury free has been a big part of my training. I also completed Bath Half Marathon in March as part of my training programme with a personal best time of 1 hour 52 minutes. I’ve lost weight and am the fittest I’ve ever been.”
When asked what he is most looking forward to, Nick said: “I’ve been told the whole day is a once in a lifetime experience and I’m really excited to be a part of it. The crowd is going to carry me to the end.”
Nick is one of five members of Team PACT who will be running the 26.2 miles around the streets of London on Sunday 21st April. He has a £1,600 fundraising target and is collecting donations to his page at Parents And Children Together: Nick’s first Marathon (enthuse.com).
He said: “I never thought it would be possible to run this far but training and dedication has got me to where I know I can actually do this! If I can do it anyone can, so dream big!”
